Aha Hills
The Aha Hills, visible from Gcwihabe Caves (Hills), are about 50km away. They are located in the most isolated, untouched wilderness straddling the Botswana-Namibia border. They form a 245km2 dolomite, limestone and marble plateau, which is 700 million years old. This is considered to be the remotest part of Botswana. Much of it has not been fully documented and explored. How to get there The Aha Hills are further north and west of Gcwihabe, and just along the Botswana/Namibia border. From Gcwihabe go back to the main sand track leading northwest to Nxainxai. It is about another 40 kilometres to Nxainxai at which point it is best to ask for the road to Aha, as it is not signposted. Nxainxai to Aha Hills is another 15 kilometres. |
